Judiciary at stake
Judiciary at stake.Recently there was news that a district judge could be successfully exposed for asking his subordinate judge recommending not referring the contempt matter to the High Court against a collector of a district. In another information it was known that one judicial officer was personally involved to get a case decided in favour of a bureaucrat. Another judge was suspended for righting judgment for and against a litigant. List is not exhausted. An advocate said that now ‘management’ system is ‘working’ in judiciary. What does it show? It shows poor state of administrative affairs in the judiciary. The district judiciary is not getting positive energy and environment and few from higher judiciary, district judges and vigilance district judges doubt the subordinate judges assuming they are top honest. But a fact remains that none knows properly how to administer the judiciary and how to train the judges and to guide how to work in an up right manner. What is happening is due to vested interests the reins of administration have loosened and with exception no one is working in right direction. The so called standard of disposal has made the judges irrational in their working and they aim for achieving for giving the minimum units required for keeping themselves to be up to the mark. They do not care about the law, procedure, logic, reasoning and justice. Here I am not writing about corruption but the judicial administration and judicial work. The competency of the district judges also can be very well doubted about their legal acumen. How ever the district judges should be exempted from giving minimum units of work so that they may be able, according to their capacity and ability, to guide judges working under them. Mere suspension of judges on flimsy and trifling grounds and initiating enquiries and punishing them will not do to achieve the goal of up right judiciary. I can dare to say that the inspecting authorities do not know how to inspect the work of judges. What is done is it has remained a faultfinding mission only and to en cash personal avenge.
